Rules & Regulations

Article 1 – Organisation

Montmartre Ronse is an initiative of ArtNomadique, with logistical and organisational support provided by Mrac Acrylic Art.

By registering, each participant confirms that they have read and accepted these Rules & Regulations.

Article 2 – Participants

Montmartre Ronse is intended for artists and craftspeople who demonstrate their creative process or craft live.

Simply displaying finished works without any live demonstration is not in keeping with the spirit of the event.

The organisation reserves the right to refuse applications that do not fit the concept of Montmartre Ronse.

Article 3 – Selection

All applications are reviewed by the organisation.

Selection is based on several criteria, including:

• quality;

• originality;

• diversity;

• artistic merit;

• suitability for the event concept.

The organisation's decision is final and does not require further explanation.

Article 4 – Pitch Allocation

Each participant is allocated a standard 2-metre pitch.

The organisation determines the location of every pitch.

Pitches may not be exchanged, transferred or shared without prior written permission from the organisation.

Please mention this in your application and explain why it is required.

Where possible, reasonable requests will be taken into consideration.

Article 5 – Set-up and Breakdown

Set-up and breakdown times will be communicated in advance.

All participants agree to respect these schedules.

Participants may not leave their pitch before the official closing time without prior permission from the organisation.

Article 6 – Parking

Free parking is provided for participating artists and craftspeople within walking distance of the event.

To ensure a safe and efficient set-up, participants are kindly requested to park their vehicle first before transporting their materials to their allocated pitch.

Upon arrival, every participant will receive an official parking permit.

This permit must remain clearly visible behind the vehicle's windscreen throughout the event.

Vehicles without a valid parking permit may be removed by the competent authorities in accordance with local parking regulations. Any resulting costs will be borne entirely by the vehicle owner.

Article 7 – Tents

Montmartre Ronse aims to recreate the authentic atmosphere of historic Montmartre.

For this reason, participants are encouraged to work without a tent under normal weather conditions.

In case of light rain or extreme heat, the organisation may authorise the use of a tent.

If a tent is permitted, the following conditions apply:

• only white tents are allowed;

• maximum size: 2 × 2 metres, unless otherwise authorised;

• tents must be securely anchored;

• tents must not obstruct visitors or neighbouring participants.

For safety reasons, the organisation may require tents to be removed at any time.

Article 8 – Weather Conditions

Montmartre Ronse is an outdoor event.

In case of light rain, the event will normally continue as planned.

Participants are responsible for protecting their own artwork, materials and pitch.

In the event of extreme weather, force majeure or safety concerns, the organisation reserves the right to modify the programme, temporarily suspend the event or cancel it in whole or in part.

No compensation may be claimed in such circumstances.

Article 9 – Sales

Participants may only sell their own original work or creations.

Artists are free to determine their own selling prices.

ArtNomadique charges no commission on sales.

Article 10 – Insurance and Liability

The organisation is covered by Public Liability Insurance (Event Insurance).

This insurance does not cover participants' artwork, equipment, personal belongings or transportation.

Each participant remains fully responsible for:

• their artwork;

• equipment;

• transportation;

• theft;

• loss;

• damage;

• and any insurance they choose to arrange for their own work.

The organisation cannot be held liable for loss, theft or damage to artwork, equipment or personal belongings, unless such damage results directly from proven gross negligence on the part of the organisation.

Article 11 – Safety

Participants are responsible for ensuring that their pitch is safe at all times.

Access routes and walkways must remain clear.

The use of open flames, gas installations or any potentially hazardous equipment is only permitted with prior written approval from the organisation.

Electricity is not provided as standard.

Article 12 – Respect

Participants are expected to treat visitors, fellow participants, volunteers and organisers with courtesy and respect.

Discriminatory, aggressive or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

The organisation reserves the right to remove any participant whose behaviour seriously disrupts the event or its atmosphere.

Article 13 – Cleanliness

Participants are responsible for keeping their pitch clean throughout the event.

At the end of the event:

• all waste must be removed;

• the pitch must be left clean and tidy;

• any damage to public property must be reported immediately.

Any damage caused by a participant may be recovered from that participant.

Article 14 – Photography and Video

Photographs and video recordings will be made during Montmartre Ronse.

By participating, each participant grants ArtNomadique permission to use this material for the communication and promotion of Montmartre Ronse and future editions of the event.

Article 15 – Privacy

Personal data is used solely for the organisation of Montmartre Ronse and is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

​

Article 16 – Final Provisions

By registering, each participant confirms that they have read and accepted these Rules & Regulations without reservation.

In all matters not covered by these Rules & Regulations, the organisation's decision shall be final.

​

Article 17 – Cancellation by the Participant

If a participant is unable to attend after confirmation of participation, the organisation must be informed as soon as possible.

Participation fees are, in principle, non-refundable unless the organisation expressly decides otherwise.

​

Article 18 – Cancellation or Changes by the Organisation

The organisation reserves the right to modify, postpone or cancel the event, in whole or in part, in the event of exceptional circumstances, force majeure, safety concerns or decisions by the competent authorities.

The organisation cannot be held liable in such cases.

Article 19 – Applicable Law

These Rules & Regulations are governed exclusively by Belgian law.

Any disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of the competent Belgian courts in accordance with applicable legislation.
