Adi Steurbaut.jpg

Adi Steurbaut

Visual Artist

🎨 "His work thinks in lines, feels in colour." Adi Steurbaut, originally from Ronse, is a civil engineer-architect, sculptor, and self-taught painter. His work moves between structure and stillness, between logic and lyricism. His visual language has resonated far beyond Belgium — from a corporate publication in Japan to a memorial in South Korea. He developed his own form of constructivism: clear, rhythmic, and thoughtful — where colour, space, and spirit intersect. At ArtNomadique, we present a glimpse of this timeless and precisely composed body of work. 🖼 Form with purpose. Colour with insight.

Sven Op de Beeck

Abstract Painter

🎨 "Sometimes, order follows chaos. And colour finds meaning." Sven Op de Beeck, born in Ghent (1964), trained as a bio-engineer and self-taught as an artist. He lives and works in De Pinte, creating abstract series built through thoughtful improvisation and reasoned intuition. His work reflects inner structure, rhythm and silence — and a deeply personal journey shaped by a cardiac arrest that changed his view on life and art. 🖼 Abstraction with a heartbeat.

Noella Nechelput.jpg

Noëlla Nechelput

Visual artist

🎨 "Fabric is my canvas, textile my heartbeat." Noëlla Nechelput graduated from the Zottegem Art Academy in 2014. Working with fabrics every day, she fell in love with painting directly on the material itself. Each piece starts with charcoal, then bursts into rough, expressive strokes of oil on carefully prepared cloth. The fibers hold colour; the brush releases emotion. Look and let the fabric speak—every weave carries its own story. 🖼 Textile. Texture. Emotion in motion.

Rita Busschots 2.jpg

Rita Busschots

Visual artist

🎨 "I paint what can’t be said, but can be felt." Rita Busschots (b. 1963, Antwerp) is both an artist and a therapist. Her work grows layer by layer — through collage, acrylic and text — creating images that speak where words fall short. As a highly sensitive person, she is guided by emotion, atmosphere and human connection. Her paintings are soft and strong at once — an invitation to feel, to slow down, and to connect. 🖼 Art that touches you before you understand it.

Katrien Vallons.jpg

Katrien Vallons

Ceramics

🎨 “With clay as her language and porcelain as a whisper, KatKleistudio tells quiet stories.” Emotion runs through the work of ceramic artist Katrien Vallons (KatKleistudio). She begins with organic shapes, reshaping them by cutting, pressing or connecting. Her sculptures bring together wild clay, porcelain, rubber, metal, wood, thread… each material in conversation with the other. Her colourful Ceramic Babies radiate tenderness and joy — each one unique, full of gentle personality and quiet charm. Placed together, they feel like companions in dialogue, whispering stories only the heart can hear. 🖼 Gentle. Quirky. Porcelain with a soul.

Herman Abé.jpg

Herman Abé

Visual artist

🎨 “With bronze and brush, Herman Abé translates the stillness of movement.” His work draws from the human body and the graceful strength of dance — with ballet as a lasting source of inspiration. In bronze, he captures fragile pauses within motion, letting the raw texture of the metal remain visible, alive. His watercolours, framed in corten steel frames of his own design, echo that same balance: delicate, yet full of presence. A search for quiet power in form, in line, in breath. 🖼 Dance in bronze. Stillness in line.

Ingrid Sartiau 2.jpg

Ingrid Sartiau

Visual artist

🎨 “Sometimes your voice doesn’t come through words, but through colour and form.” Ingrid Sartiau trained as a jewellery designer and rekindled her artistic practice during the COVID period. She now creates mixed media paintings and velvet sculptures, often in vivid cobalt blue — a colour carrying deep personal meaning. As the unacknowledged daughter of King Juan Carlos of Spain, her voice as an artist holds powerful resonance. Through her work, Ingrid shows that art transcends bloodlines — it is a space to connect, to express, and to be seen. 🖼 Strength in softness. Silence in colour.

Dirk Liviau.jpg

Dirk Liviau

(Digital)Photographer

📷 "Sometimes, a photograph isn’t a memory—it’s a dream that almost feels real." Dirk Liviau is an internationally awarded Belgian photographer, constantly reinventing the visual language. From digital world champion to creator of “hyfoa’s” — surreal photographic assemblies blending texture, decay and emotion. His work spans continents and genres: abstract rhythms, dreamlike landscapes, intimate boudoirs, and black-and-white explorations of the body. At ArtNomadique, we present a glimpse into his singular vision — where photography becomes poetry, and every frame holds breath. 🖼 From shadow to line. From texture to soul.

Inge Lafontaine.jpg

Inge Lafontaine

Visual artist

🎨 “When it grows quiet inside, art begins to speak.” Inge Lafontaine rediscovered her creative voice when she allowed herself to be still. After years of giving, striving, and caring for others, she made space — in her life and on the canvas. Through acrylics, she transforms personal reflection into serenity and strength. Each work breathes clarity and calm, without ever needing to shout. An ode to slowing down. To what appears when you finally allow yourself to simply be. 🖼 Strength in stillness. Clarity in color.

Willem Vos 2.jpg

Willem Vos

Visual artist

🎨 With brush, palette knife and layered strokes, Willem Vos brings his inner world to canvas. No academic training — just the decision to carve his own path, through doubt and expectation alike. His work — raw and layered — emerges in strata of acrylic and oil, with textures and colours that speak of change, strength and emotion. His art has been shown in museum exhibitions across Europe and China. In 2025, Forbes France interviewed him about his work and artistic vision. 🖼 Winner of the 2025 Schoten Audience Award. Art as a lived gesture.

Sofia Speybrouck 2.jpg

Sofia Speybrouck

Sculptor

🎨 "Between line and emptiness, meaning begins to grow." Sofia Speybrouck (b. 1970) is guided by nature, emotion, and her surroundings. Her work seeks the pure essence of things—through abstracted lines, thoughtful shapes, and intentional space. In ceramics, bronze, and canvas, she explores the tension between positive and negative space, strength and stillness. Her visual language is deeply personal, translating a wide range of subjects into poetic, balanced form. 🖼 Nature. Essence. Silence in shape.

Tom Gheysens.jpg

Tom Gheysens - H.art

Visual artist

🎨 Tom Gheysens (H.art) paints with light — in layers of ink and intensity. A self-taught artist with over fifteen years of experience, he constantly explores the boundary between experiment and aesthetics. His canvases blend acrylic, ink, brush pens, and metallic tones — a bold fusion of materials that brings depth and movement to life. Alongside his modern work, he gives new meaning to restored baroque frames by merging them with contemporary creations. The result: a unique tension between history and the now. 🖼 A contemporary rebel with a soft spot for history.

Anastasia De Temmerman.jpg

Anastasia De Temmerman

Visual artist

🎨 With markers and imagination, Anastasia De Temmerman explores the edge between tenderness and darkness. Her work shifts between playful and confronting, light and intense. Using acrylics, pencils, and markers, she builds a visual language where vulnerability and strength mirror one another. Each piece feels like a journal page — raw, poetic, and deeply sincere. Anastasia’s style is introspective, layered, and unpredictable. A young visual voice that lingers with quiet power. 🖼 Poetry in colour. Pain and softness on paper.

Pia.jpg

Pia Timmermans

Visual artist

🎨 "Her portraits show less face, but more feeling." Pia Timmermans studied Visual Arts in Turnhout, Free Printmaking in Antwerp, and Painting at the Academy of Arendonk. Her work balances strength and fragility — with tenderness, imagination, and a hint of subtle humor. Each portrait tells a personal, poetic story, crafted with detail and heart. By leaving faces behind, she opens space for shared emotions, allowing the viewer to recognize themselves in what remains unspoken. 🖼 Hidden. Held. Connected.

DDking 2.jpg

Dieter Deconinck (DDKing)

AI Artist & Creative Innovator/Designer

🎨 In a world of algorithms and emotion, DDKing (Dieter Deconinck) From Ronse, Belgium — AI artist and jewelry designer — seeks beauty in fragility. His work explores themes like loss, identity, and healing — layered, intense, and deeply human. Named Leading Creator 2024, he exhibited at Museum Night Amsterdam and the AI Design Awards in Barcelona (where he was a finalist with three special mentions), and designed the album cover for Craving (Alan Fitzpatrick). In September, his work will be shown in Spain. His Scars and Grace jewelry collection, designed with Ethicarat, carries the same themes into wearable form. 🖼 AI as mirror. Art as recognition.

Mrac Acrylic Art -

Marc Janssens

🎨 Color as compass. Emotion as direction. Mrac Acrylic Art paints with an open heart and a bold hand. His work is intuitive, intense, and unfiltered — acrylic layers that reveal feeling without explanation. At times explosive, at times delicate, but always honest. His canvases speak the language of the subconscious, with exhibitions from Tokyo to New York, from Knokke to Adelaide. 🖼 Color that feels. Art that lingers.

Ludo Knaepkens

Visual Artist

Ludo Knaepkens – Belgian Pop Art Rooted in Memory Ludo Knaepkens (b.1962, Hoogstraten) is a Belgian artist who has been drawing and painting since childhood. After a busy professional career with extensive international travel, he graduated from the IKO art academy and dedicated himself fully to his artistic journey. Working from his studio in the charming Beguinage of Hoogstraten, he paints with acrylics, oils, and mixed media. His style evolved from romantic impressionism to vibrant, graphic pop art. Recurring themes include vintage cars, classic races, pin-ups, and transport imagery. His compositions blend original models with selected photographic sources, drawing inspiration from Norman Rockwell and Gil Elvgren. Knaepkens’ pop art is accessible, expressive, and often laced with humor. His palette is bold, his compositions graphic, and from a distance, his work takes on a photographic quality. His influences range from music lyrics and visual nostalgia to everyday life and popular culture. He has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Zurich, Berlin, and Dubai. In 2024, he joined the Artbox Biennale in Venice and exhibited across Belgium from Mechelen to Knokke. One of his key works, On the Blue Moon, depicts a dreamlike world where youth are free from societal pressure — a space of equality, freedom, and imagination.

IMG_6598.jpeg

Jan Van Schooten

Peinture de Lumière – Photographic Impressionism

Jan Van Schooten – Peinture de Lumière: Beyond the Frame of Photography As a commercial photographer, Jan Van Schooten is familiar with structure and precision. But in his artistic work, he breaks free from those constraints. Through Peinture de Lumière — light painting — he transforms the act of photography into something fluid, expressive, and emotionally charged. By moving with his camera and using long exposures, he paints with light. Headlights, reflections, and shadows become strokes of color and rhythm. The result is surreal and dreamlike — abstract images created entirely in-camera, without AI or digital manipulation. Jan’s work is a celebration of freedom, intuition, and light itself. He lets go of perfection to embrace the spontaneous. Each piece invites viewers to slow down, reflect, and create their own meaning. His photography is not about capturing reality — it’s about evoking something deeper, something timeless.

IMG_6711.jpeg

Marya Hayat Khan

Visual Artist

Marya Hayat Khan – Sculptural Presence, Textural Stillness Marya Hayat Khan is a Pakistani-Belgian artist based in Antwerp, originally from Lahore. With a background in sculpture from the National College of Arts, her artistic practice centers on textured, sculptural wall pieces that merge space, light, and material in quiet dialogue. Her work is rooted in abstraction and guided by intuition. She builds her pieces through layers of acrylics, modeling clay, and inks, allowing the textures to evolve organically. Each artwork is conceived as a standalone presence — bold enough to define a space, yet subtle in its impact. Marya’s visual language is refined and immersive. Using a bold yet neutral palette, her pieces respond to light and shadow, drawing the viewer into a space of stillness and reflection. Her works don’t just decorate a room — they hold it. Through form, tension, and texture, she invites the viewer to pause — to encounter silence, depth, and emotional resonance.

IMG_6776.jpeg

Marc Roos

ceramist

Marc Roos – Sculptures that resonate, layer by layer Marc Roos is a Belgian artist whose clay sculptures are both visual and tactile experiences. Each piece is created intuitively, built up layer by layer without a predefined plan. His inspiration stems from the structure of compressed cardboard and the layered composition of the earth. Marc’s work radiates balance, serenity, and timeless beauty. The use of natural textures and oxides enhances the earthy presence of each sculpture. “It’s a dialogue between me and the material,” he explains. His work has earned recognition both nationally and internationally. In 2023, he was selected for the Glass and Ceramics Biennale in Haacht for the second time. In 2024, he was one of the laureates of the Piet Staut Art Prize in the category ‘Small Sculpture’ Marc’s sculptures transcend the idea of an object — they are invitations to pause, feel, and reflect in a world that often moves too fast.

IMG_6805.jpeg

Rita Busschots

Visual Artist

Rita Busschots – Art as an Inner Path Rita Busschots (b.1963, Antwerp) is a Belgian artist for whom painting is both an act of expression and a means of healing. Since childhood, art has helped her process emotions, make sense of experiences, and explore the deeper layers of being. She studied visual arts at Sint-Lucas Academy in Antwerp and later trained as a health therapist and Bach flower practitioner at the European Academy. This holistic view of life and art deeply informs her creative practice. Rita’s work is mostly mixed media, combining acrylic, collage, written text, and intuitive mark-making. Her visual language moves between abstraction and figuration, always with space for interpretation. As a highly sensitive person (HSP), she connects deeply to atmosphere and emotion — and translates that into art. Her paintings are intuitive responses to feelings, stories, and quiet transformations. Themes such as loss, resilience, softness, and growth appear frequently. Each work becomes an invitation to pause, reflect, and feel. She previously exhibited at the Petrus Art Gallery (2002–2004) and was featured in Young Belgian Artists from the 19th to the 21st Century (Piron Publishing). Today, she continues to walk her path as an artist of emotional depth and sincerity.

IMG_6879.jpeg

Didier Bekaert

Visual Artist

Didier Bekaert – Layers of Stillness Didier Bekaert (b.1964, Willebroek) has been creating art for over five decades. What began as a childhood love for drawing evolved into a multifaceted artistic practice combining traditional painting, digital media, and 3D modeling. He now lives and works in Merchtem, Belgium. His visual language exists somewhere between the human and the mechanical, the familiar and the surreal. Using pastel, acrylics, Corel Painter, and 3D software like Cinema 4D, he constructs figures that feel suspended in time — quiet on the surface, yet charged with inner tension. His images are silent, but not empty: they speak through symbols, suggestion, and what remains unspoken. Didier doesn’t confine himself to a single style or medium. His works often layer textures that evoke skin, metal, or stone, and his characters — part-human, part-machine — carry a presence that invites closer reading. At the core of his work lies a search for stillness, introspection, and emotional resonance. His images don’t offer answers but create space. They invite viewers to slow down — to reflect, to sense, and to encounter themselves.

IMG_6940.jpeg

Wouter Vandenbranden

ceramist

Wouter Vandenbranden – Ceramics in Rhythm and Resonance Wouter Vandenbranden is a Belgian ceramic artist whose work blends clay, silence, and music. What began as a personal search for peace grew into a thoughtful artistic practice grounded in rhythm, repetition, and tactile connection. He works from a quiet studio surrounded by nature. His pieces are built layer by layer, often without a fixed plan. Some are delicate, others more grounded — each marked by touch, time, and intuition. His use of natural finishes, earthy tones, and subtle textures gives his work both presence and serenity. A defining aspect of his work is the connection with music. Some sculptures include a Spotify or QR code, allowing the viewer to listen to a song or soundscape linked to the piece. The result is a multisensory experience that blends sight, sound, and memory. Formerly working under the name ‘ClayWaves’, Wouter now signs his work with his own name — but the essence remains: soulful, meditative ceramics that speak quietly but deeply.

IMG_7008.jpeg

Marleen Haertjens

Visual Artist

Marleen Haertjens – Painting in Colour, Feeling in Sound Marleen Haertjens, known artistically as MarHa, is a Belgian painter with a background in music. Trained as a flutist and long active as a music teacher, she brings rhythm, silence, and sensitivity into her visual work. She discovered painting later in life, starting from intuition and growing into a deeply personal and expressive practice. Her preferred materials are acrylic and epoxy — the glossy finish enhancing light, depth, and colour vibration on canvas. Her paintings are layered and abstract, guided by inner emotion, spiritual movement, and her connection to nature. Music remains present — in the rhythm of the brushstroke, the structure of the composition, and the energy behind each work. As MarHa, she doesn’t create art to explain, but to be felt. Her works are sensorial landscapes, emotional resonances. They are not narratives, but silent compositions in colour.

IMG_7047.jpeg

Novya

Visual Artist

Novya – Between Silence and Imagination Novya (b.1993, Amsterdam) is a Dutch artist with a background in psychology. Her work reflects a quiet sensitivity to human experience — exploring fragility, stillness, connection, and the quiet tension between social expectation and inner truth. She works primarily with pencil and ink on paper, building delicate, detailed drawings that invite introspection. Her visual language is subtle yet emotional, revealing what often goes unspoken. Novya also transforms her drawings into wearable art — printed on textiles and brought into daily life in intimate, tactile ways. Her work invites the viewer to slow down, to feel rather than explain. She has exhibited in Amsterdam and Zandvoort, and will show her work in London in May 2025. In June, she joins the ArtNomadique group exhibition at Schoten Castle (BE).

She graduated in Sculpture from the Meylandt Academy of Fine Arts in Heusden-Zolder (2010) and has since completed numerous commissions for schools, municipalities, and public institutions. Her work balances abstraction and figuration, often inspired by the human body. Each piece invites stillness, reflection, and emotional resonance. Her public works include a bust of King Albert I, a playful sculpture of Pluk van de Petteflet, commemorative stones, symbolic monuments, and even a 1960s “strandbuggy.” Internationally, she participated in The Korean Connection (ENCC) exchange project in South Korea, and she won the art competition by Toerisme Limburg with her piece Maassnoer. Willem Vos

Visual Artist

Willem Vos – From businessman to painter of transformation Willem Vos (b. 1972, Netherlands) carried a deep dream from childhood: to become an artist. Art gave him a way to make sense of the world and express what words often couldn’t capture. But life, as it often does, took another course. Influenced by outside expectations, he built a career in the business world — while his creativity faded into the background. At fifty, he returned to that childhood dream. What followed was a radical shift: from businessman to artist. That decision gave him room to breathe and a new sense of purpose — through paintings that make raw emotion, inner strength and transformation tangible. His style is expressive, intuitive and layered. He works with acrylic and oil paint, palette knives, pouring techniques and textured surfaces — creating canvases that are not just seen, but felt. Works that don’t aim to please, but to move. That silence. Or shake. Willem’s paintings speak of resilience, of letting go of control, and of the courage to change. His colours are intense, his forms unrestrained, his themes universal. Each painting is a reflection of his personal journey — and an invitation for the viewer to reconnect with their own. His art is for those who dare to feel, to pause, and to redefine their direction. As Willem himself says: “Art is my way of navigating the chaos of life and making emotion tangible. A reminder that transformation can be painful — but above all, powerful.”

As a designer, entrepreneur and artist, he explores the meeting point of technology, beauty and meaning through his art. Influenced by cubism, art deco and art nouveau, his work reveals a fascination with structure, rhythm and the human face. He blends digital techniques with classical aesthetics, resulting in strong, layered compositions that invite reflection. His works have been exhibited in Antwerp (De Wieuw, Old Bathhouse), De Bijl in Zoersel, Veurne, and galleries in Benidorm and Altea. Now 74, John proves that art has no age limit. His creations bridge generations — inviting us to see beauty not just as decoration, but as meaning. Each piece tells a story in form and color, shaped by feeling and thought. “You look at your work in the morning. And again in the evening. That’s appreciation. That’s life with art.”

Tom Laurens

Visual Artist

Tom Laurens – Between strength, play and intuition Tom Laurens (BE) is a multidisciplinary artist working across ceramics and painting. His practice is rooted in intuition, experimentation, and a playful outlook on the world. Together with his wife Sandra Smet, he forms the artistic duo Arttosan, where both artists maintain their own voice while inspiring one another. Tom creates expressive sculptures where character and symbolism collide. His signature gorillas — both powerful and disarming — act as archetypes that reflect something deeply human. Sometimes majestic, sometimes humorous or tender, they always carry a distinct energy. That same richness is found in his paintings: abstract in nature, but charged with emotion, rhythm and colour. In his recent work, Tom explores the tension between freedom and control, between instinct and structure. For the exhibition at Schoten Castle, he presents a selection of new and recognisable works, paired with paintings that expand his visual language. His art opens conversations — between human and animal, strength and vulnerability, art and play.
